My name is Maarten Schuchard and I am a fine-art photographer based in Groningen, The Netherlands.
In my photographic art I create tangible products depicting mystical events and theories.
I’m inspired by many esoteric teachings and my own interpretation of these teachings forms the way I see spirituality in every day life.
The medium of digital (studio) photography has given me the opportunity to experiment with lighting techniques and montages in order to create a visual representation of ineffable phenomena.
In my artistic process I make use of long exposures, studio flash and digital montage.
I mostly photograph nature and natural materials.
By experimenting with many lighting techniques I hope to bring out the energy and spirit of the forests and materials I photograph.
All effects seen in my art are photographed and not digitally created.
I find great joy in coming up with new ways of visualizing my own imagination.
Currently I am working on new art projects and new printing/lighting techniques for display.
By combining new printing technologies with simple construction concepts I strive to create sustainable and weatherproof art installations as well as stunning art-frames for display both inside and the outdoors.
